Practice 1 was split into two separate 40 minute sessions – the first for the slower class B1, B2, C, D, and E cars, and the second for the fastest class X, A1, and A2 cars.
Supercars star Thomas Randle topped the charts in class X and outright, setting a 2:22.3261s to top the session by 0.4754s over Chris Lillis in the class A2 Chevrolet Camaro.
Randle shares the BMW M2 Competition with Ben and Michael Kavich, while Zach Bates and Josh Muggleton line up alongside Lillis.
Supercars drivers littered the top 10 positions.
Third was the BMW of Simon Hodges/Jayden Ojeda ahead of the Cooper Barnes/Trent Whyte/Bryce Fullwood Mustang.
Beric Lynton/Tim Leahey/Will Davison rounded out the top five.
Tony Virag led the way in the first session in the B2 class HSV with a late 2:30.5486s lap ahead of the all-female class B1 BMW of Karlie Buccini/Courtney Prince/Tabitha Ambrose.
Virag will share the Commodore with Michael Ferns and Liam Evans.
Class C was led by the VW Golf R of Trevor and James Keene with a 2:36.3076s, while Andrew McMaster/Michael Hazelton/Richard Buttrose led class D in the BMW 125i.
The new-to-Bathurst Honda Accord of Greg Boyle/Brett Stevens set a 2:44.2587s to set the pace in class E.
Davison backed up the BMW’s top five pace by topping Practice 2, with a 2:22.9524s set early in the session.
Hodges and Ojeda went one position better, elevating to position two, with Cam Hill putting the defending winner BMW M2 in third position, just 0.05s behind Ojeda.
Bates brought the class A2 Camaro home in fourth position leading the way in class, while Zaki Wazir/Tom Shaw/Ric Shaw rounded out the top five in another class X BMW.
Prince and Ambrose continued to set the pace in the Team Buccini Racing class B1 BMW in 11th position outright.
Cody Gillis/Cameron Lewis/Leon Cordato topped class A1, bringing the BMW M2 home in 13th outright.
Keene’s Gold again set the pace in class C, while Hayden Jackson/Grant Bray/Matthew Totani topped a competitive class D fight in their Mazda RX8.
Boyle/Stevens again set the pace in class E.
Class A2 fought back in the final practice session of the day, with Mustang Cup drivers Kassulke and McLeod topping the session in their Ford Mustang Mach 1.
Practice 3 was affected by a lengthy red flag when Josh Smith crashed the class C HSV Astra at Forrest’s Elbow.
The Astra, shared with Tristan Ellery and Steve McHugh, ran wide at the entry to the elbow, skating along the tyre barrier before climbing up on the wall and toppling over onto its roof.
Smith emerged from the car unharmed, and the team will assess the damage overnight.
The Lynton/Leahey/Davison BMW slotted into second just 0.1825s behind the Mustang to top class X, ahead of Hodges/Ojeda, and Lillis/Muggleton/Bates in position four.
Tyler Cheney/Tim Brook rounded out the top five in another Ford Mustang Mach 1.
Lachlan Mineeff/Peter Lawrence/Drew Russell topped class B2 in 14th position, just ahead of the A1 leaders of Laws/Gillis/Cordato in 15th.
The brand new Kia Stinger GT of David Worrell/Scott Walker/Richard Luff topped class B1, while Keene once again led class C.
Luke Vanna led the way in class D in the Subaru BRZ shared with Aston Davis and Emily Caccaviello, while Boyle/Stevens swept the day in class E.
The Bathurst 6 Hour returns for one final 40-minute practice session tomorrow at 10:05am AEDT ahead of qualifying in the afternoon.
