Australian Touring Car legend John Bowe has launched a range of merchandise, aimed at raising funds for the late Jason Richards’ children.
Bowe has created the ‘Sienna and Olivia Trust Fund,’ with all money raised supporting Richards’ and wife Charlotte’s children’s education.
Bowe has already contributed a significant amount of money to the cause after auctioning a one-off ride in ‘Mustang Sally’ – Bowe’s series-winning Touring Car Masters Ford Mustang,
Motorsport fans can now support the fundraising by purchasing ‘JR’ caps and special t-shirts, featuring Bowe, Richards’ and his famous ‘cancer finger.’
The merchandise, which will be available for the first time at the Muscle Car Masters at Sydney Motorsport Park next weekend, is a collaboration between Bowe and Mark Sedren of the 3zero Group.
V8 Supercars fans will be able to get their hands on the JR branded gear at the Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000. The merchandise can also be ordered online at http://www.johnbowe.com.au.
Bowe says that creating the education trust fund for Richards’ children is what ‘JR’ would have wanted.
“It’s been our goal to provide the best gifts of all, to ensure Jase’s little girls receive the best education,” Bowe said.
“I know how much importance he placed on education, so really we are helping deliver on his promise. We’ve had lots of support, he was universally loved by the motorsport community and well beyond. On behalf of the family, I thank everyone in advance for their support.
The 3zero Group’s Sedren says that most V8 Supercars teams are behind the concept.
“We’ve had fantastic support from many of the teams in Merchandise Alley,” he said.
“They’ve supported us and will make our JR gear available and hand over all the cash. They have pledged to take no commission in an effort to help the family – they are simple distribution points for us.”
