Fastway Racing to put the zoom into Australia Zoo

thumbMotorsport enthusiasts are in for a treat this Father’s Day weekend, with the Fastway Racing Porsche part of the McElrea Racing line-up at RACQ Australia Zoom event at Australia Zoo this Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September.

Over 1000 visitors are expected to attend each day of the event, which will showcase V8 Supercars, Porsche GT3 Cup cars, sprint cars and classic race cars.

Attendees will be able to meet McElrea Racing drivers, Warren Luff and Renee Gracie, along with McElrea teammate and Fastway Racing driver Simon Ellingham, plus a host of other drivers as well as the pit crews and team owners, not to mention getting an up close and personal view of their favourite race cars.

The McElrea team will be located next to the zoo’s famous ‘Crocoseum’, with McElrea’s very own drivers taking part in a special Motorsport Show on centrestage before Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin feed the crocs in the zoo’s famous Wildlife Warriors show.

As well as being on hand to meet the fans and create awareness of No Second Chance, a youth safety program aimed at saving teenage lives from the tragic consequences of youth violence and road accidents, Warren and Renee will be signing autographs, as will Simon, who’ll be autographing posters and giving away other Fastway memorabilia.

Richard Thame, CEO at Fastway Couriers Australia, says RACQ Australia Zoom is a fantastic family event.

“It’s set to be a wonderful Father’s Day weekend at Australia Zoo and the Fastway Racing team is excited to be part of the action and proud to be associated with creating awareness of No Second Chance, a worthwhile youth program,” he said.

“RACQ Australia Zoom is a must-see motorsport highlight for all racing and car enthusiasts and a fun family day too.  The Fastway Racing team is looking forward to meeting all the fans while supporting another worthy cause, with all proceeds from the event going to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors Foundation.”

There will be a dedicated Kids Zone at the event, with free face painting and amusement rides, and visitors of all ages will be able to enjoy all of the other attractions that Australia Zoo has to offer, with the opportunity to see Australia’s native wildlife up close, including kangaroos, koalas and crocs.
