SOME of the country’s best V8 Dirt Modified racers are set to invade Hessions Auto Parts Grafton Speedway this Saturday night to fight it out for NSW V8 Dirt Modified Title victory.
In what is the third season in a row that the NSW V8 Dirt Modified Title is going to be fought out at Grafton Speedway, the driver everyone has their eye on is defending NSW Champion Kevin Britten. The 400-metre Grafton Speedway track has been a happy hunting ground for the Queensland-based Britten in recent seasons, and it has seen him win the past three NSW Titles held there and also take out the last two Super Dirt Series crowns. In total, Britten has won five NSW Title wins to his name.
The form driver so far this season in NSW has without a doubt been current and four-time Australian Champion Mark Robinson. The Lismore-based racer has claimed multiple NSW Titles during his career, and he would love nothing more than to add another this Saturday night by wrestling the crown away from Britten’s dominant grasp.
Mitchell Randall is regarded as one of the toughest competitors and despite having not won a state or national title in V8 Dirt Modifieds yet, he goes into the NSW Title with his confidence high after recently defeating both Robinson and Britten to win the second Mr Modified Series round at Lismore Speedway.
A field of close to 30 drivers have nominated to fight it out for NSW Title glory, and other drivers looking to add their name to the winner’s list includes Seiton Connor-Young, Luke Dunn, Joshua Rose, Brayd Stephenson, Chris Corbett, Brock Gardiner, and Andrew and Taylah Firth.
This Saturday night’s NSW V8 Dirt Modified Title doubles up as the opening 5 Star Dirt Series round.
Apart from the NSW V8 Dirt Modified Title, the night of action is going to be made up by the following support classes: RSA Street Stockers (latest Northern Rivers Rumble Series round), SSA Production Sedans, RSA Four Cylinder Sedans, and Junior Sedans.
