James McFadden moves to Melbourne this week as he plans to open the interstate summer tour on a successful note at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway this Saturday night.
J Mac and his Total Workwear team are just back from the United States where they went a long way to establishing their professionalism in the World of Outlaws, UNOH All Stars and King of California where he linked with Brent Kaeding and the Kasey Kahne team.
Australian drivers have mixed results with teams contesting the World of Outlaws, none better than Sydney driver Kerry Madsen has produced this year with the WA based and financed Keneric team.
McFadden linked with the Joe Gaerte team this year in the US and was a real opener.
The easy going driver is concentrating on the local scene at present as the US season goes into hibernation after this weekend and won’t resume until February in Florida.
On Saturday night McFadden faces a cracking line up in the 10K to win Sprintcar Jackpot that includes Australian champion David Murcott, WSS series winner Steven Lines, WA iron man Robbie Farr, Tasmanian Shaun Dobson and Victorian chargers Johnny Vogels and Darren Mollenoyux.
Racing on Saturday starts at 7.00 p.m.
Unlike the preference of other circuits towards big money races over 35 or 40 laps with fields of up to 24 cars, the Jackpot has a different format that qualifies 12 cars on a fastest to the front basis and the green drops for a helter skelter 10 lap final.
