Today (Wednesday 28 June), racing royalty Craig Lowndes, Cowboys star Michael Morgan and Supercars legend Russell Ingall came together to launch FOX SPORTS’ coverage of the Watpac Townsville 400.

To celebrate Supercars’ arrival in Queensland, Morgan swapped a footy for a steering wheel to square off against Lowndes in a friendly Supercars racing challenge.

Lowndes crossed the finish line well ahead of Morgan, and it was obvious to everyone watching on why he is the most successful driver in Australian motorsport history.

The Supercars Championship returns to Queensland from July 7 for the Watpac Townsville 400, before attention turns to the iconic Queensland Raceway for the Coates Hire Ipswich Supersprint from July 28.

FOX SPORTS will showcase every practice, qualifying session and race from both events LIVE, ad-break free and in HD.

Lowndes said of his preparations for Townsville: “We’re very pleased coming out of a successful event in Darwin and we’re looking to carry that momentum into Townsville. There’s no doubt that’s it’s one of the toughest tracks we go to, but it’s a track I enjoy. Obviously it’s going to be hot, but I enjoy the heat and don’t struggle with it to the extent that some other drivers do. The hotter the better!”

Fans can warm up to the action with a special edition of Inside Supercars, broadcast in front of a LIVE audience in Townsville next Wednesday (July 5).

The special broadcast will feature as part of the Foxtel All In: Townsville Tour, with FOX LEAGUE’s League Life and Queenslanders Only and Sky News’ Paul Murray LIVE all broadcasting from the Townsville Civic Theatre.
