Ramsdale Wreckers – Jacob Mills Racing season concludes with serious work ahead

After a serious crash at the end of season ‘Dunkley Panels and Towing’ Production Sedan 1000 at Wahgunyah Speedway, Jacob Mills and his supporters have begun a huge off season one or another in order to be ready for racing for 2024.

Mills was chasing mate and fellow racer Scott Hawkins in the feature event at Wahgunyah whilst he sat in second place when his car was launched up off the dirt landing hard back into the track before coming to a stop. Whilst Mills was ok, the race car suffered significant damage after having been painstakingly pieced together during the previous off season after another serious race accident.

The car has tremendous family history and sentimental value to Trevor Mills and Jacob and a new attempt is being made to see if the car can be resurrected at Dunkley’s. With the knowledge of Mills Racing car and engine builder Trevor, with advice and workshop access from Dunkley’s proprietor Joel and his team, the car is already undergoing car alignment work.

Jacob spoke about the efforts regarding the race car. “Dad (Trevor) and Joel have been awesome once again sinking their teeth into this race car for us, whilst I am off at work, and I cannot verbalise how much I appreciate their efforts. We proved this season with our limited racing opportunities that the car and driver package is still more than competitive in the Production Sedan class and given all the effort prior to this season to have the car brought back to life, it was just too hard to not take a serious look at it once again.

We have had so much terrific support this year and we really enjoyed the racing we were able to have in Production Sedans with the company we keep that we are keen to go at it again next season in one car or another. A huge thank you to Russell and Sara of ‘Ramsdale Wreckers’ our number one supporters for everything they have done for us. We look forward to sitting down together and discussing the next season with them.

Thank you very much to my team manager Bec Slattery, she is also my partner and makes many sacrifices in order for me to be in competitive sports. Thank you to my crew chief and significant supporter Joel. Without Joel dedicating himself to the season and the hours outside of the racetrack and at the track, this becomes a very difficult sport for one person with mechanical knowledge to manage.”

Mills this season won a new feature that was created at Sonic Speedway in Swan Hill for Production Sedans and the competitive fires are well and truly burning with the focus on being ready for the start of the new season in November.

“We will sit down with Russell and Sara, work out where Ramsdale Wreckers Racing and Jacob Mills Racing can align and what we would like to achieve and look forward to making announcements after that conversation with regards to the next season. Until then we will keep working on our own race car and give supporters further updates soon. Shared Mills.

Jacob Mills would like to thank the following supporters:
Ramsdale Wreckers
Mills Racing Engines & Dyno Tuning
Dunkley Panels & Towing
Stewart’s Contracting Solutions
Jaru Transport
