Search for motor racing talent set to begin

Search for Motor Racing Talent Set to BeginPulsar Driver Search is gaining momentum in the lead up to the competition’s commencement where drivers from various backgrounds will compete for a funded arrive and drive deal in the 2016 Pulsar Challenge.

The first round consists of Motorkhana’s to be held at Sydney Motorsport Park on 30 July 2015 and Winton Motor Raceway on 2 August 2015.

Drivers are only required to arrive with their helmet and will be provided with a vehicle and 1 on 1 tuition throughout the day. Drivers best run will count and the top 20 from each state will move on to a track day in Pulsar Challenge race cars to be held at Winton Motor Raceway and Wakefield Park with the final round to be held at Winton in early October.

Pulsar Driver Search has been created by Kyle Austin, who had this to say in the lead up to the competitions commencement.

“It is great to see such a diverse range of competitors already entered and excited to compete in Pulsar Driver Search. It will be very interesting to see who comes out on top and wins the funded drive, whether that be an experienced racer, karter, sim racer or potentially someone with the natural talent who hasn’t had the opportunity to showcase their talent previously.

“I would also love to expand Pulsar Driver Search into a competition to win a drive in a national category that runs with the V8 Supercars. Aussie Racing Cars is definitely on my radar and I ask anyone who would like to see this happen to get behind Pulsar Driver Search as with the support it is my aim to make this a reality in the very near future.”

Lachlan Moss, a rookie South Australian HQ competitor who has also tested an Aussie Racing Car, was the first person to get behind and enter Pulsar Driver Search on the very day it was launched.

“When I first discovered Pulsar Driver Search it was an opportunity I couldn’t miss. Motorsport is an expensive and time consuming sport however Pulsar Driver Search is the perfect opportunity to get your racing fix while potentially winning one of the great prizes. I am pumped to give it my best shot in both NSW and Victoria and potentially drive with Pulsar Driver Search in next year’s Pulsar Challenge.” Moss said.

Those with racing experience also include Daniel Smith and Ian Kegg from the NSW Excel Championship Series who are sure to be quite competitive with their front-wheel drive experience.

The highest placed novice will also have the opportunity to co-drive with the winner at the Pulsar Challenge enduro. In the event a novice wins outright, the second place novice will get the co-drive. Josh Buchan, Cody McKay, Jamie Pendergast, Josh Groch and Hayden Berns are all experienced karters and are set to fight it out for the novice honours.

Mitchell McLeod and Craig Sampson are bringing iRacing experience into the competition along with several female competitors including Holly Holden-Stewart, Alexandra Lawrence and Julia McGarry looking to score the outright win.

One lucky competitor will also receive a test day in a Pulsar Challenge race car which will be determined at random.
