IO Films Australia and Deep Spring Pictures UK have released a trailer for their upcoming biopic on the life of British motorcycle legend Barry Sheene.
The universally liked Londoner became one of the icons of motorcycle racing during the 1970s, winning 500cc world titles in 1976 and 1977. During his career he scored 23 wins, 52 podiums and 18 pole positions.
Sheene emigrated to Australia in the late 1980s where he combined his property business with a role as a motor racing commentator for the Nine Network and Network Ten before his untimely death in 2003 after suffering from cancer.
The movie script is an adaptation based on the book “Barry: The story of motorcycling legend Barry Sheene” written by Steve Parrish & Nick Harris.
The film is still in its development phase with a release date yet-to-be announced.
