The first bitumen truck has arrived at Queensland Raceway in preparation for the circuit's resurfacing, set to commence on Monday.
Civil contracting company Fulton Hogan will resurface the entire 3.12km circuit with a new super strong compound, repairing the many bumps entering the heavy braking zones.
The cost of resurfacing will exceed $1.2 million.
The original contract was to take place early this year but lengthy delay was caused due to South-East Queensland's flood disaster in January.
The track will be out of action for approximately eight weeks, with only light use over the following months.
The new surface will take approximately four months to achieve 90 percent of its final strength.
