Former Williams Formula 1 team manager Peter Vale will join Brad Jones Racing from the Vodafone Gold Coast 600 later this month.
Vale has been recruited to replace team manager Chris Clark, who has held a key role at the Albury squad for the last 10 years.
Today's Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 will be Clark's last in his role before he conducts a handover with Vale at the Gold Coast.
Vale, who will move from UK to Australia, will bring a wealth of experience to the team having worked for McLaren, Williams and Manor in F1.
This year he travelled to Australia to take in the Watpac Townsville 400 in July before taking up his new role at BJR.
“I think he will be really good for the team,” team owner Brad Jones told Speedcafe.com.
“Peter came to Townsville but I think he will get a pretty good indicator when he gets to the Gold Coast.
“We will do a handover with Chris there and he will get bit of a feel of what is going on. I'm sure he will be great.”
Jones has hailed the efforts of Clark, who is set to leave the team following a move away from the team's Albury base.
British-born Clark has enjoyed a motorsport career that has included a spell at McLaren in F1 where he met Vale.
“Chris has been fantastic. He was been with me for 10 years and we are really good friends and he will still be more than welcome at our team,” added Jones.
“He has been a key part of rebuilding the business. It has been a mammoth effort by him.”
