PepsiCo Australia has declared its entry in the 2011 V8 Supercars Championship as the ‘most striking on the grid.’
The company has joined with Kelly Racing and Greg Murphy for its entry into the sport – revealing their ‘street-art’ inspired livery in Sydney this morning.
Known as the ‘Pepsi Max Crew’, the drinks giant has provided Murphy with a lifeline, after the four-time Bathurst winner left Paul Morris Motorsport at the end of last season.
The Kiwi, who drove alongside both Todd and Rick Kelly at K-Mart Racing in the early 2000s, said that he is excited to be once again linking with the Mildura brothers.
“This is another huge opportunity for me,” said Murphy.
“To be part of Kelly Racing and around guys I’ve driven with and known for a long time is somewhat of a homecoming.
“This is a team on the up and we are all privileged to have Pepsi Max’s involvement.
“The livery is by far one of the most striking I have seen.”
According to Todd Kelly, signing Pepsi is a great moment in the history of his young team.
“Kelly Racing has big plans in 2011 and it’s fantastic that we have secured a partnership with one of the world’s biggest brands that shares this ambition and foresight to our plans,” he said.
“The livery is something else and sure to turn some heads.”
Danielle Westerbrink, National Promotions Manager emphasised Pepsi’s commitment to V8 Supercars.
“The Pepsi Max Crew will be the most striking V8 Supercar on the track in 2011.
“We are committed to the Australian V8 Supercars Championship and we have got a very precise goal with this new sponsorship. We are going to bring something fresh and unprecedented to Australian motorsport fans”.
