Brad Jones Racing has signed Jason Bright to a long-term driving contract, but the drivers of the other two cars still remain up in the air.
Both Jason Bargwanna (Jana Living Racing) and Karl Reindler (Fair Dinkum Sheds Racing) have their one-year deals expire at the end of this season – and the Albury-based team is weighing up its options as the 2012 V8 silly season reaches a critical phase.
Bargwanna, who finished on the podium at Barbagallo Raceway this year, says that returning next year is looking positive after receiving solid interest from his current backers.
Reindler has told Speedcafe.com in recent weeks that he is looking at all of his options.
If there is to be a change of driving personel at BJR next year, team owner Kim Jones says that an experienced driver will be his priority, nominating available stars Fabian Coulthard and Alex Davison as his first draft picks.
“At the moment, Jason Bright has a contract and everything else is variable,” Jones told Speedcafe.com.
“We've had a good association with Bargs. He's done a good job for us and got on the podium in Perth.
“Karl is looking at his options, and he'd be a fool if he wasn't. This is his third year in the category. He's doing a reasonable job. He has qualified fifth in Queensland, he qualified sixth in Western Australia before he had the biggest accident of all time.
“Obviously, you have to look at Fabian (Coulthard) and Alex (Davison), if they are available. I understand that Fabian has a deal with Walkinshaws, but he doesn't have a set of wheels, which is all speculation, but those two drivers are the pick of the crop.
“We're working towards locking all that down as soon as we can. Unfortunately, everything comes around so quick. One thing for sure, though, that BJR will be here bigger and brighter than ever.”
