Maranello Motorsport is planning to field a limited edition Ferrari 599XX Evoluzione at the Challenge Bathurst sprint event in November.
The Melbourne operation has recently acquired the 544kW (730bhp) track day weapon for a private Australian businessman from a collector in China.
Ferrari constructed a run of 30 of the V12 powered machines which were initially reserved for invited customers only to run in the Global Corsa Clienti XX Program.
The car, which is the only one in the southern hemisphere, is not eligible or homologated for circuit racing as it fails to meet the required noise restrictions.
However, the 599XX Evoluzione will be able to run at Challenge Bathurst event (November 24-27) which does not stipulate noise restrictions.
The event will consist of two days of sprints, where a maximum of 120 cars, split into three groups, can take part in eight x 20 minute timed track sessions.
With full Mount Panorama track closures for events only permitted five times a year under state law, the creation of Challenge Bathurst leaves just one slot left for another race meeting.
The 599XX is based on the 599 GTB which revs to 9000rpm and uses carbon fibre body parts and brake pads.
