Jim Beam Racing driver James Courtney has revealed that he has been busy jet-setting in the lead-up to his home race, the Sydney Telstra 500.
Courtney told Dan Lewis of the Sydney Morning Herald that he has been clocking up the frequent flyer points in the last few days, a guest at the wedding of sportscar driver and friend Marino Franchitti.
Franchitti wed Holly Mason, daughter of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason. The wedding was a paparazzo’s delight, with Marino’s brother Dario this year’s IndyCar champion and married to actress Ashley Judd.
Courtney will be one to watch in Sydney this weekend. Racing in the town he grew up in, Courtney was the winner of the Dunlop Townsville 400 the last time the V8 circus visited a brand new circuit.
