Long-time V8 Supercars administrator Damien White has resigned from his position with the category, effective immediately.
Based out of the company’s Gold Coast office, White had most recently held the role of Director – Competition and Category Development.
In a note sent to teams this afternoon, White said that “I feel I have reached my maximum potential within the business and, for this reason, have tendered my resignation”.
White is the second recent departure from V8 Supercars’ operations department following Sporting and Technical manager Stephen Robertson’s move to head up the Carrera Cup in September.
Joining V8 Supercars as an Operations Co-ordinator in 2009, White ascended through the ranks to become General Manager – Motorsport four years later.
His position was eventually re-profiled during a mid-2014 shake-up of the category’s operations that saw David Stuart drafted in to lead the technical department.

In addition to his work as part of V8 Supercars’ administration team, White has an extensive history behind the wheel, winning two V8 Ute Series titles and a pair of Bathurst 12 Hours.
White continued racing during his earlier years with V8 Supercars before hanging up his helmet in 2012 to concentrate on the championship.
Elsewhere, V8 Supercars is also set to lose its National Sponsorship Manager Andrew Gibbs, who has elected to move on after five years with the company.
A replacement for Gibbs is currently being finalised, while it is unclear whether White’s position will be directly filled.
