Dick Johnson Racing has unveiled two striking new liveries for this weekend’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
Both the #17 and #18 Jim Beam Racing Falcons will carry new schemes, representing Jim Beam’s super premium products – Jim Beam Black and Jim Beam Bonded.
This weekend at Mount Panorama, Steve Johnson and David Besnard will compete in metallic silver colours, representing Jim Beam Black, while the #18 Falcon of James Moffat and Matt Halliday will carry a gold look with Jim Beam Bonded branding.
Jim Beam has dubbed the two new-look cars ‘The Premium Pair.’
It is the first time in Jim Beam sponsorship’s history that it has entered non-white race cars.
The new colours will remain on the new cars until the end of the 2011 season.
Team driver Johnson says that after a disappointing Phillip Island meeting last month, he sees no reason why the team can’t deliver a top result with new colours at Mount Panorama.
“To have two cars with different liveries, and to launch them on the biggest race weekend in Australian motorsport, it can’t get any better,” Johnson told Speedcafe.com.
“For the fans here at the track and watching on TV, I’m sure that Jim Beam is going to get a lot of mileage out of it this weekend.”
Beam Global Australia’s brand Director for Ray Noble says ‘The Great Race’ and the team’s premium look is the perfect fit.
“Working with Jim Beam Racing to re-brand the cars with The Premium Pair design for this weekend’s iconic race was a perfect fit, as there’s no doubt Bathurst is motorsport’s premium event,” Noble says.
“We’re really excited to have Dick Johnson and Allan Moffat, two legends of the sport, together at Bathurst. It will be a huge boost to the team to have them in our garage passing on their knowledge and experience throughout the weekend.”
