At the Great Tarmac Rally, the final round of Australian Tarmac Rally, the Championship was awarded to the winning Porsche GT3 RS driver Paul Dowie who took the #1 from Jason Wright. They were even on points after Round 2. Wright had a slight lead after Round 3, but his mechanical DNF in the Nissan R35 GTR at the GTR all but sealed Dowie the title. The Championship winning navigator was Fiona Wright. She had competed in all four rounds and accumulated the highest points, whereas Dowie had used multiple navigators throughout the ATR.
The 2024 Australian Tarmac Rally kicks off at the Lake Mountain Sprint on March 16-17, a change from the opening round at Mt Baw Baw in 2023. Round 2, the Snowy River Sprint, will be held on May 4-5, before Round 3 will be the Great Tarmac Rally, scheduled on September 7-8. The GTR has historically been the final round, but in an endeavour to mix it up, organisers have moved the finale to Mt Baw Baw on October 26-27.
