Six races into the V8 Supercars Championship and Jason Bargwanna is searching for some luck – and he’s asking his fans to help.
The Brad Jones Racing driver has had a difficult start to the 2011 V8 season, involved in five accidents in six races so far.

Race 1, Abu Dhabi: turned around by James Courtney, finished 16th (penalty issued to Courtney)
Race 2, Abu Dhabi: turned around by Jamie Whincup, finished 12th (racing incident)
Race 3, Adelaide: Finished 10th

Race 5, Hamilton: Crashed into by Murphy but finished 13th (penalty issued to Murphy)
Race 6, Hamilton: Caught up in Michael Caruso/Mark Winterbottom/Jamie Whincup crash – DNF (under investigation)
Currently 24th in the points, Bargwanna is regarded as one of the ‘little fighters’ in the V8 Championship, but at the moment, he looks more like a punching bag …
The former Bathurst winner says he isn’t even looking to fix the problem by staying out of trouble. He says he needs a lucky charm – and he wants a fan to supply it.
“All lucky beads, lucky charms, lucky undies, leprechauns … anything … can be sent to the team in Albury. We’ll accept anything and I’ll strap it to the car for the next race,” the Jana Living Racing driver said.
“In terms of this most recent accident, it was hard to see exactly what happened. Whincup seemed to go down the inside of Caruso into Turn Three. Caruso came back across the left and got tipped around. After that there wasn’t much I could do about it.
Team co-owner Brad Jones says that Bargwanna can’t take a trick at the moment. ”He had a very competitive car and got taken out in someone else’s accident,” he said.
“It’s the fourth time in six races that he’s been taken out so hopefully it’s all out of the way now. We just need to dodge a bullet.”
The next round of the V8 Supercars Championship will be held at the Trading Post Perth Challenge on April 29-May 1.
