Jack Le Brocq will head into today’s Supercars pre-season test at Winton Motor Raceway full of confidence following a successful shakedown yesterday.
Le Brocq is one of six drivers armed with a brand-new chassis this year, joined by Tickford team-mate Cameron Waters, Dick Johnson Racing duo Will Davison and Anton De Pasquale, Walkinshaw Andretti United’s Chaz Mostert and retiring Triple Eight star Jamie Whincup.
With Victoria’s recent lockdown being lifted for yesterday, Tickford took the opportunity to clock up the allowed 60km of running for a new build.
That occurred out at Winton, where Le Brocq will be joined by 15 other Supercars in circulating the country Victorian track today.
Approaching his fourth main game campaign, Le Brocq reported via social media that the early indications were good with his #5 Mustang.
“Was pretty excited to finally drive the brand new @truckassist rig here at Winton!” he wrote.
“She’s a gem. The @tickfordracing fellas have nailed the build!
“Shake down ran perfectly and we’re all set for a big day of testing.”
Meanwhile, the helmet with which Waters will tackle the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship has been unveiled.
The striking red design is complete with a light-hearted disclaimer on the back of the lid, with reference to the Mildura product’s recent Sprint Car activities.
“Warning: Supercars use only. Warranty void if used in a sprintcar,” it reads.
Waters finished the 2020 Supercars season as runner-up to Scott McLaughlin.
