The long-standing debate over the Lotus name in Formula One appears over after today's F1 Commission meeting.
Autosport.com reports today that Team Lotus, Renault and Virgin Racing will all be allowed to change their titles for the start of the 2012 season.
The changes mean that from 2012, Team Lotus will be known as Caterham, Renault will switch to Lotus and Virgin Racing will officially be called to Marussia.
The changes will need to be officially rubber stamped by the FIA's World Motor Sport Council.
The name changes finally means that the feud over the Lotus name in F1 has ended, following the long-running dispute between Team Lotus and the road car company Group Lotus.
With Renault's factory team becoming the only outfit to use ‘Lotus' in its name, the current Team Lotus will now make full use of the Caterham brand, just under a year since owner Tony Fernandes bought the sportscar manufacturer.
