Returning under the SRO Motorsports Group’s Shannons SpeedSeries banner, Mustang Cup’s sophomore season will follow all five SRO rounds.
This will see the new category make its first visit to Mount Panorama when the SpeedSeries heads to the iconic venue in late October.
The 2027 calendar remains provisional, with one event still yet to be confirmed.
Commencing at Phillip Island in April, Mustang Cup is set to traverse four states, moving on to The Bend Motorsport Park in late May.
A return to Sydney Motorsport Park will then be followed by Queensland Raceway, which shifts to September from a May-June slot from previous years.
The series then heads to Bathurst, where drivers will have the chance to showcase the Mustang Dark Horse R’s straight-line capabilities down Conrod Straight.

“It is fantastic to continue with SRO Motorsports Australia as a premium category into 2027,” said series manager Liam Curkpatrick.
“Our competitors have really enjoyed the opening three rounds with SRO at its SpeedSeries events, so it’s great to confirm that our second year will have consistency for all.
“Adding Bathurst to our schedule is very exciting. Mount Panorama is the perfect location for our Dark Horse Rs, and we know that we are going to produce some great racing there.
“Like 2026, we will run a six-round series next year, so we still have one event to lock away. We are talking to various parties and confirmation of that will come in the near future.”
Three rounds remain in the current Mustang Cup Australia season, which resumes on July 24-26 at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin.
Josh Anderson leads the standings by 33 points over Formula Ford graduate Joe Fawcett.
