Hodson was running two positions ahead of Corish on the final lap of the race when the front-end fibreglass bodywork came loose.
As Hodson leapt over the kerb at Turn 7, part of the nose went under the front wheels of Hodson’s #28 machine, leaving the Kiwi unable to steer.
The car slid through the grass and made heavy contact with Corish, pitching the #87 into a scary roll towards the outside wall.
Corish’s car bounced off the wall and landed back on its wheels, minus the full bodywork.
Visibly distressed by the incident, Hodson climbed out of his battered car and ran towards Corish to make sure his fellow driver was okay.
Both drivers climbed from their cars, appearing to be unhurt.

Earlier in the race, Hodson’s bodywork was tweaked following contact between him and Cody McKay.

Brandon Madden took a comfortable victory, leading home Diesel Thomas by 2.3s, with V8 SuperUtes regular Rossi Johnson coming home third.
Jack Boyd hung on to position four after a multi-ap top five battle, while Scott Dornan came home in fifth spot.
Madden got away to an even start with pole-sitter Reece Chapman, however a four-wide run into Turn 2 on the opening lap allowed Johnson to take the lead.
Johnson was shuffled back to third on the opening lap, allowing Madden to build a commanding lead as the field battled behind.
Second place through sixth swapped spots lap after lap, with Thomas, Boyd and Anthony Di Mauro playing into the battle.
Chapman began to experience issues late in the race, dropping down the order to the bottom of the field in the closing laps.
Di Mauro fell out of the top five battle with a spin on the final lap, ending up in 20th spot.
Aussie Racing Cars returns for its second race of the weekend on Saturday at 7:40am AEST.
