The Toll Holden Racing Team is set to compete at Bathurst with a special livery to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the famous Australian motor racing team.
To commemorate the factory Holden squad’s milestone, it is poised to transform the modern red and white scheme on its cars to replicate the look of the original 1990 livery that took Allan Grice and Win Percy to victory in the Bathurst 1000.
Since that 1990 race, the General’s main team has taken six V8 Supercars Championships and five Bathurst 1000s.
At Winton Motor Raceway today, both the #2 and #22 Toll Holden Racing Team cars appeared in pit lane in their regular colour schemes. The team is not testing today, but will be on track tomorrow.
Speedcafe.com.au spoke to a Walkinshaw Racing representative who would only confirm that the Toll Holden Racing Team would definitely be competing at Phillip Island with the current paint scheme.
It is believed that the two factory cars, to be driven by Garth Tander/Cameron McConville and Will Davison/David Reynolds, will compete at Bathurst in a modernised version of old scheme, paying tribute to the team’s 20th anniversary season.
