Supercars community reacts to GRM departure

A host of personalities from within the Supercars community have voiced their regret following news that Garry Rogers Motorsport will not carry on in the series next season.

A stalwart of the Supercars grid, Rogers won the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 in 2000, and was responsible for introducing a swathe of young drivers to the series.

I am gutted to that Garry’s time in @supercarschampionship has come to an end. The man and team that gave me and so many others the first opportunity in the sport, my first full time drive, first podium, first win, first pole, thank you for everything Garry and @grmotorsport pic.twitter.com/XiV5rpG6wN

Whilst there is plenty to be excited about in Supercars, this is a sad day and a loss for our category.
Congratulations Garry and Team for what your achievements over the years, your commitment, passion, and dedication shown for our sport. Thank you for your contribution. https://t.co/JKNrNrb0AY

treating them like family. Thanks for all your support and for the memories Garry, you’re a legend and the category will not be the same without you. MC #ThanksGarry pic.twitter.com/2MBGnnlKal

Wishing the entire @GRMotorsport group well. The grid won’t be the same in 2020. #WalkAndUnite #VASC https://t.co/1si2JM8G2q

Sad to hear @GRMotorsport 😓

Garry, Barry and the entire @GRMotorsport team – THANK YOU for everything you have done for Australian Motorsport. @supercars paddock won’t be the same without them but it is lucky to have had GRM for so long #GRM #Thankyou #VASC pic.twitter.com/XVFyeI2LJ1

Sad day with @GRMotorsport pulling out of @supercars, real end of an era! Owe a lot to Gary personally and I’m sure their business will continue to grow!

@supercars Bathurst 1997 driving with Dad. grmotorsport gave me my shot and I haven’t looked back. What a massive team they have built over the and how many young guys that Garry has supported. It’s a real shame… https://t.co/uQMmAB4MBe
