Kyle Busch will lead the field to green in the 68th running of the Daytona 500 after winning the pole Wednesday night at Daytona International Speedway.
In his 21st attempt, Busch earned his first pole for the season-opening NASCAR Cup Series race.
“Being able to qualify on my first pole for the Daytona 500 is very special.” Kyle Busch said. “It would be really nice doing this interview being number one on Sunday.”
The two-time Cup Series champion is still seeking his first victory in the Daytona 500, one of the few marquee events that has eluded him during his hall of fame career.
In the offseason, RCR made a crew chief change for Busch, pairing him with Jim Pullman. In their first race, they secure the pole.
Chase Briscoe will start alongside Busch on the front row.
Briscoe, the defending Daytona 500 pole sitter in 2025, finished fourth in last year’s race after leading the field to green.
Corey Heim locked himself into the Daytona 500 field on speed during qualifying, securing his spot in Sunday’s race without needing to rely on his Duel qualifying race result.
Justin Allgaier also locked into the field on speed.
The remainder of the starting lineup will be set following the Duel at Daytona qualifying races.
