TRICON Garage announced that three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti will make a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start for the team at St. Petersburg, driving the No. 1 truck.
The effort will be sponsored by Dollar Tree through a partnership with Legacy Motor Club.
The start adds a major open-wheel name to the Truck Series entry list for St. Pete and pairs it with a national retail sponsor.
TRICON did not immediately release additional details on the length of the deal beyond the St. Petersburg race.
Franchitti, a four-time IndyCar champion and three-time Indy 500 winner, has remained a prominent figure in American motorsports in the years since his driving career ended.
This appearance marks a notable crossover move into NASCAR’s Truck Series, particularly in a marketable, sponsor-driven one-off tied to a team partnership.
TRICON’s No. 1 has been one of the organization’s headline entries, and the Legacy connection brings another Cup Series-linked relationship into play for a high-visibility weekend.
