On the fifth anniversary of his death, Speedcafe.com pays tribute to the brave and inspirational Jason Richards in this touching interview.
Richards, 35, succumbed to a rare form of cancer – an adrenal cortical carcinoma – following a 14-month fight.
Speedcafe.com had the privilege of sitting down with Richards for his last in-depth interview to talk about his battle, the support of family and fans and his genuine passion for racing and life.
The interview was conducted on Thursday prior to the Hidden Valley SkyCity Triple Crown in 2011.
Richards set the third quickest time in opening practice in Bright’s #8 Team BOC Commodore, but due to his health was unable to drive again that weekend.
The video was not aired in full until after his passing and is as powerful today as the day it was originally posted.
