Whincup and Bourdais top QR test day

Sebastien Bourdais smokes the tyres during his first practice start at Queensland Raceway today

Jamie Whincup and Sebastien Bourdais have finished on top of the times in the V8 Supercars international co-driver test at Queensland Raceway today.

The test has been held to allow V8 Supercars’ international co-drivers to gain miles in the cars ahead of this weekend’s Armor All Gold Coast 600.

The fast time set by the #88 Commodore was recorded before the lunch time break.

Crucially, the Whincup/Bourdais car had two relatively fresh sets of the soft compound Dunlop control tyre in its tyre bank ahead of the test.

The Toll Holden Racing Team Commodore of Garth Tander/Ryan Briscoe was second for the day, ahead of the SP Tools Falcon of Shane van Gisbergen/Emanuele Pirro and the Tim Slade/Helio Castroneves Luecky 7 Falcon.

The #49 VIP Petfoods Commodore of Steve Owen/Boris Said racked up the most amount of laps, clocking 126 tours of the six-turn ‘Paperclip’ circuit on the way to the sixth fastest time.

Don’t miss out on grandstand tickets for the 2026 Repco Bathurst.

At the other end of the lap-count chart, the Dean Fiore/Gianni Morbidelli Falcon clocked 75 laps, while the sister PMM car of Russell Ingall/Jan Magnussen competed 83 laps.

Note: The timing at the circuit displayed the fastest time for each car, rather than driver.
