Jamie Whincup has turned the tables at Barbagallo Raceway, setting the fastest lap in the final practice session today.
Whincup was a comfortable 0.15s ahead of his closest rivals as the teams prepare for the three races over the next two days.
Jason Bright (Team BOC) was second fastest, just ahead of Whincup’s team-mate Craig Lowndes, Rick Kelly (Jack Daniel’s Racing), Will Davison (Trading Post FPR), Fabian Coulthard (Bundaberg Racing), Mark Winterbottom (Orrcon Steel FPR), James Moffat (Jim Beam Racing) and Alex Davison (IRWIN Tools).
The session was marred by a couple of red flag periods, including a visit to the sand trap by Michael Caruso (Fujitsu GRM) and Todd Kelly (Jack Daniel’s Racing).
Tomorrow’s qualifying session will be held at 10.50am tomorrow.
