New Australian GT squad 59Racing has unveiled the McLaren 720S GT3 it will campaign in this year's championship, driven by Fraser Ross.
The outfit confirmed a two-car program with a McLaren 570S GT4 alongside the 720S GT3.
Ross has campaigned a McLaren 650S GT3 in Australian GT competition for the past two seasons, and was a title contender heading into the final round of the 2018 competition.
“I cannot wait to be back out on track for the new season, and I am really proud to confirm that I am joining 59Racing for the 2019 season,” said Ross.
“It has seemed like a long break over the winter getting everything in place for the start of the year, and I feel that the whole team is in a really good place as we make the final preparations for the opening round.
“I'm really looking forward to seeing what the 720S GT3 can do around Albert Park
“The event always has a fantastic atmosphere, as it is part of the opening round of the F1 calendar, and I feel really honoured to be part of the team that will race the new McLaren for the first time.”
The team, which takes its name from the number McLaren used when it won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1995, has not confirmed who will drive the GT4 entry.
The opening round of the Australian GT Championship takes place as part of the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix next weekend.
