Kiwi driver Emma Gilmour has been ranked second in the world after the release of the International Rally Drivers Association Women World Rally Rankings.
Gilmour, who finished second in the 2012 New Zealand Rally Championship in a Subaru, was rated ahead of many European-based women rally drivers.
The Dunedin star finished with 471 points with Bulgarian Ekaterina Stratieva the resounding #1 with 1428 points.
Australia’s rising star on the international stage Molly Taylor was ranked in 11th place on 165 points, missing a spot in the top 10 by just three points.
The Sydney-based Taylor finished on the podium in her class in the United Business/BP Racing Citroen DS3 R3T in the WRC round, Rally GB, last September.
The rankings embrace the global rallying season from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012 and are ratified under the World Rally Rankings which are promoted by the International Rally Drivers Association.
