Team BOC’s Jason Bright has given his crew some extra work in testing at Winton after going off the track and into one of the safety fences.
Bright went off at Turn 3 (old Turn 1) and went across the gravel trap before swiping the wall on the outside.
One of the safety crew vehicles was required to pull the Commodore back onto the circuit before he was able to drive it back around to the pits.
The front bumper sustained damage and was replaced for the remainder of the day. The car was off the circuit for around one hour as the crew replaced the front bar, checked the wheel alignment, cleaned out the gravel and ensured everything was OK to continue.
“Yeh I ended up in the sand trap a little bit earlier than I wanted to,” said Bright.
“Seems we had an issue and I locked the brakes and just about had it pulled up but tagged the fence.
“We got it back and had it on the set-up patch and made sure we were good to go again for the rest of the day.”
Bright is sharing the car at the test with Andrew Jones and has been joined by teammates Fabian Coulthard and Luke Youlden (Lockwood Racing) as well as David Wall (Wilson Security Racing). Also running are the four cars from Ford Performance Racing with Mark Winterbottom and Steve Richards joining Will Davison and Steve Owen in the Pepsi Max Crew Falcons. David Reynolds and Dean Canto are in The Bottle O Racing Ford, plus Alex Davison and John McIntyre in the Jeld-Wen Falcon. Chris Pither is also running his Icebreak Racing Dunlop Series Commodore.
