Will Brown has his eye on World TCR starts having wrapped up the inaugural TCR Australia series with a round to spare.

Brown sealed the title at Sandown, where he was also competing in the inaugural S5000 round.

The 21-year-old has been racing a Hyundai i30N TCR alongside a third campaign in the Dunlop Super2 Series with Eggleston Motorsport.

He has been pessimistic about his chances of rising to a full-time drive in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship next year given his results in Super2, but sees himself in TCR Australia again next year.

Brown is also hopeful of racing in selected World Touring Car Cup rounds in 2020.

“I’ll probably do it (TCR Australia) again next year and I wouldn’t mind trying to do some World TCR rounds,” Brown told Speedcafe.com.

“It depends, obviously, on whether or not I do Supercars, if I can get that next year, but obviously you’ve got to look at other options.”

The TCR Australia triumph represents another national title for Brown, who won the CAMS Australian Formula 4 Championship and Toyota 86 Racing Series, and finished runner-up in Australian Formula Ford, in 2016.

“It’s fantastic to get another one under our sleeve,” said Brown.

“(It was a) Bit of a tough weekend but awesome to finally wrap it up.

“It’s been a great season. Obviously consistency is key in winning the championship and we’ve shown that this year.

“We were on the podium 12 out of the 18 races so far so it’s been good.

“I really enjoyed the TCR, and they’re quick enough for what they are, I think; I think they’re a fairly good car.”

Brown will compete in Super2 and as co-driver to Penrite Racing’s Anton De Pasquale at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 on October 10-13, while the TCR Australia season draws to a close at The Bend Motorsport Park on November 15-17.
