The TeamVodafone driver set the pace, lapping the 3.4km street track in a 1m23.3625s.
SP Tools driver and local hero Shane van Gisbergen was the second fastest ahead of Lee Holdsworth (Fujitsu Racing), Russell Ingall (Supercheap Auto Racing), Jamie Whincup (TeamVodafone), Tim Slade (Lucy 7 Racing), Steve Johnson (Jim Beam Racing), Tony D'Alberto (Wilson Security Racing), Jason Bargwanna (Jana Living Racing) and Dean Fiore (Triple F Racing).
