Dick Johnson Racing will launch an interim livery at Queensland Raceway tomorrow, as well at its endurance drivers for 2010.
The announcement will kick off the first day of official testing for Queensland-based V8 Supercar outfits following the Victorian team’s test at Winton today.
DJR’s expanded three-car team of Steven Johnson, James Courtney and Jonathon Webb will show its Middle East colours for the first time, featuring charity support for the Prostate Cancer Council of Australia. DJR is unable to display advertising from its bourbon sponsor Jim Beam due to the alcohol restrictions.
The Jim Beam-backed team will also unveil Warren Luff, Marcus Marshall and David Russell as its three endurance drivers for the Phillip Island 500 and Bathurst 1000.
Luff has driven with DJR for the past two years, finishing sixth with Webb at Phillip Island in 2009.
Marshall has had a stop-start V8 career, while David Russell finished third in last year’s Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series. He has not contested the V8 endurance races since Bathurst in 2003.
Speedcafe.com.au contacted the Jim Beam Racing team today who did not comment on the endurance drivers, preferring to wait until its 8am launch tomorrow morning.
Another team that will take the wraps off its race cars for the first time tomorrow will be Russell Ingall, who will show his new Supercheap Auto Racing Holden Commodore.
The new Triple Eight Race Engineering-built chassis will be unveiled before testing gets underway at 9am.
But TeamVodafone has a slight head start on the rest of the Queensland teams, having lapped the track today, shaking down its brand-new Commodore VE chassis.
Other teams at the track tomorrow include Stone Brothers Racing and Triple F Racing.
