On the same day as the Indianapolis 500, the McLaren driver raced in the Canadian Grand Prix.
He failed to finish the Formula 1 race in Montreal due to a gearbox failure.
Afterwards, he travelled to Indianapolis where he met up with former McLaren teammate Daniel Ricciardo and Indianapolis 500 finisher Conor Daly.
On Tuesday, Norris visited McLaren’s Indianapolis headquarters, cut a lap of the speedway with McLaren’s IndyCar team principal Tony Kanaan in a Corvette, congratulated winner Felix Rosenqvist, and took a tour of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum with Roger Penske.
Norris spoke with media members at the track where he revealed his admiration for the Indianapolis 500.
Asked whether he had any interest in one day doing the Indianapolis 500, Norris was open to the idea.

“I never know. You never know. I don’t want to say no,” said Norris.
“I certainly want to try things outside of Formula 1. I love Formula 1 more than anything but at the same time, I love everything.
“I love bikes, I love rally, I love IndyCar – just all racing in general.
“Whether it is the Indy 500 or just IndyCar in general.”
The Indianapolis 500 is one leg of motorsport’s Triple Crown, which includes the Monaco Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
McLaren has teams at Indianapolis and Monaco and will soon have a contender at Le Mans.
Norris said that while has never had an express interest in trying to achieve the Triple Crown, he is leaving the door wide open to having a crack having already won the Monaco leg.
“It’s obviously part of the Triple Crown for McLaren as well,” said Norris.
“I won Monaco, which is part one done. Obviously got a championship now under my belt. There are two more to do.
“I’ve never had a thought about trying to achieve the Triple Crown, but obviously I’ve ticked one of the boxes already.
“Now I’ve come here. It’s a warm-up for it all.
“Seeing Fernando attempt it and things like that always makes it more inviting.
“So you never know.
“I would want to experience it,” he added.
“Maybe not that actual race at the minute, but just a lap around here in an IndyCar would be pretty gnarly — maybe one day.”

Norris lamented not being able to watch Monday’s race as it clashed with his own commitments.
The Brit said he was in awe of the race and Rosenqvist for winning one of motorsport’s most prized trophies.
“I can’t image, in some ways, but I can imagine just how amazing it is for Felix right now,” said Norris.
“Obviously it’s the day after, but it’s just as special. The trophy just looks nuts. It’s crazy how big it is. It’s almost as big as Felix. It’s cool.
“I just love when you see the joy on someone’s face.
“I know how much goes into achieving something like that, how hard you’ve got to try, and even when you feel like you can drive perfectly here, sometimes it can still not be your day.
“You just need things to go right. Obviously he timed it to perfection by two hundredths of a second.”
Norris will continue his season on June 5-7 at the Monaco Grand Prix.
He sits fifth in the standings on 58 points. The drivers’ championship is led by Kimi Antonelli on 131 points with Mercedes teammate George Russell second on 88 points.
