Joshua Fife has extended his championship lead in KZ2 after Round 4 of the Australian Kart Championship presented by Jayco and Castrol Edge in Emerald.

Fife won three of four heats and the final to stretch his advantage over Troy Loeskow, who finished third in the final, from four points to 28.

Pierce Lehane won Heat 3 after passing Fife at the second-last corner, before placing second in the final.

Kyle Henry-Smith has taken over the championship lead in KA1 after prevailing over Scott Sorensen in a huge battle in the final.

The pair traded the lead six times in two laps before Henry-Smith made a late pass and went on to win by 0.4s.

In TaG 125, Brendan Nelson will have to wait another round to try and wrap up the title.

Joshua Rogers was involved in an early 10-car battle before pulling away to take victory while Nelson, who could have sealed the championship, finished fifth.

In X30, Marc Tulloch cut into Joshua Car’s championship lead by winning every heat and the final.

Car fought through the field in the final to cross the line third, but was ultimately classified second when Dylan Drysdale was penalised two positions for an earlier incident.

Cadet 12 has already been claimed by James Wharton, but all other championships are alive heading into the last of five rounds at Todd Road on September 1-3.
