Two of the highest profile international motorsport identities will face the media in V8 Supercar’s first ‘Friday Grill’ media conference.
Toll Holden Racing Team Owner Ryan Walkinshaw and international touring car heavyweight Alan Gow will be the focus of V8’s F1-style Friday press conference, designed to introduce new personalities to the media and broaden the reach of the sport to the main stream market.
V8 Supercars’ motorsport manager Adam Perry will also be involved in the press conference. Perry is in charge of all motorsport for V8 Supercars including the Car of the Future program, all technical requirements and the rules.
Walkinshaw has recently become the boss of the Toll Holden Racing Team and the Walkinshaw Racing business after the passing of his famous father Tom earlier this year.
Gow is the boss of the British Touring Car Championship, the President of the FIA’s Touring Car Commission as well as the manager of reigning V8 champion James Courtney.
Courtney’s driver management relationship dates back to 1998.
With two of his bosses in town, Courtney says he will be on his best behaviour.
“Yeah, I went and got a hair cut and everything for this!” Courtney joked.
“It’s great that Ryan is going to be out there to give us support, and it’s good to have Alan here too. I get on really well with him. It’s great to see him. Both of them are going to be here for the Frday press conference.
“Alan obviously has his involvement with the FIA and his role with Touring Cars worldwide. He’s pretty excited to come out and see how it works.”
The Friday press conference will be held at 11am tomorrow.
