Holden lion returns on Percat Commodore

Nick Percat’s new look Holden

Nick Percat will sport the famous Holden lion on the side of his Commodore as part of tie-up with the General Motors brand for the Pirtek Perth SuperNight.

The #8 Brad Jones Racing Commodore will run a bold red and white livery featuring the famous lion motif on its ZB Commodore which will promote the Holden Guaranteed Value scheme.

Holden Guaranteed Value is a flexible finance solution that ‘future proofs’ the value of Holden owner’s new vehicles.

It is not the first time Holden has taken over naming rights sponsorship on the Percat can having run three ‘supporting equality’/’supporting diversity’ liveries in 2017.

“It’s great to see the Holden lion on the side of the #8 car again, and the red is sure to stand out when we go racing under lights at the first ever Perth SuperNight event,” said Percat.

“We had the support of Holden here a couple of years back, and it’s great to showcase the continued support with the striking Holden Guaranteed Value livery.”

Holden’s General Manager of Sponsorships and Events, Paula Hilditch added: “The concept for the Brad Jones ‘Holden Guaranteed Value’ Supercar showcases an exciting and electric red ‘time machine vortex’ design and we’re really looking forward to seeing Nick racing up the front in Perth this weekend.

“This End of Financial Year, the Holden Guaranteed Value program will future proof the value of your new vehicle and provide you with three years free scheduled servicing.

“So we look forward to a bright and certain future ahead with our customers and what better way to showcase this than under lights at one of the most dynamic Supercars Championship rounds on the calendar.”

This weekend’s Perth SuperNight will see the grid tackle a smoother, higher grip track surface for the first time, which is expected to provide a new variable for teams to master.

Percat has already experienced the new asphalt earlier this month when he drove a Radical SR3 sportscar around the venue.

“I think teams will be thinking a lot about set-up heading into this event,” said Percat.

“No-one will know quite what to expect from the new surface.

“From cutting a few laps there recently, I noticed the kerbing has changed and a few of the bumps are gone. We will be changing the way we attack a few of the corners.

“With the extra grip of the new surface the lap times could be broken, and there is more potential for people to do longer stints on the tyres, changing up the strategies that we will see during the races.

“I’m excited to get back across to Perth and get the weekend underway.”

The new look #8 ZB Commodore will hit the track for the first time on Thursday when opening practice begins at 1840 local time.
