The 27-year-old has been lined up to replace Cameron Crick in Matt Stone Racing’s wildcard entry at the upcoming Townsville 500.
Crick has withdrawn from the drive due to ongoing health concerns that have also limited his other racing efforts this season.
Although still aiming to contest the Enduro Cup with MSR as co-driver to Jack Le Brocq, Crick will be on the sidelines for Townsville.
“My priority is to get better for the back half of the season and the enduros,” Crick confirmed to Speedcafe.
MSR is expected to sub in Seton, although the move will require sign-off from the Supercars Commission.
Seton is already scheduled to drive the team’s wildcard at the Queensland Raceway round in August and co-drive with Zach Bates in the Enduro Cup.

Crick and Seton shared MSR’s wildcard Camaro during last year’s Enduro Cup, which marked the former’s return to Supercars duties.
Two wildcards are entered for the Townsville 500, with a Tickford Racing Mustang for Super2 driver Reuben Goodall also joining the field.
