Brad Jones Racing has revealed a special indigenous livery to be run by Nick Percat at this weekend's CrownBet Darwin Triple Crown.
The joint venture between BJR and Holden offered students from Rosebery Middle School Girls Academy, located in Palmerston, Northern Territory, to design a unique colour scheme to promote indigenous awareness.
A painting created by indigenous student Aimee May was selected as inspiration for Percat's new look Commodore, which was produced by renowned Holden artist Peter Hughes.
“All of the paintings we received were beautiful, colourful and meaningful,” said Hughes.
“They individually represented and captured the Australian Indigenous culture and provided the foundation of the end result you see in the design Nick Percat's #8 racing car”.
The livery follows in the footsteps of ‘Supporting Equality' paint schemes the team has run at the Australian Grand Prix and the Perth Super Sprint earlier this year.
“Anyone who loves racing should know that they are welcome to pursue a career in motorsport and we hope our working together with Rosebery Middle School Girls Academy highlights that,” said team owner Brad Jones.
“There are many fans who share our passion for racing and we appreciate their support.
“The opportunity to promote cultural diversity with Holden has been a rewarding experience and has highlighted the diversity of Supercar fans.”
Percat will join Garry Rogers Motorsport in displaying indigenous colour schemes this weekend.
