Jack Daniel's Racing has revealed the one-off look it will carry at this weekend's V8 Supercars event at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
To conform with the country's strict anti-alcohol advertising laws, the soon-to-be-Nissan squad unveiled new branding on its Holden Commodores, featuring ‘Commitment' and ‘Craftsmanship' as the major signage down the side of the #7 and #15 entries, to be driven by Tim Blanchard and Rick Kelly respectively.
Jim Beam Racing's two cars of Steve Johnson and Dean Fiore will also be forced to ‘adjust' the branding on their Ford Falcons.
The JDR Commodores feature ‘fast facts' across the skins, with Kelly's #15 entry including signage representing 32,800 hours of team training, the 1800 hours it takes to create a Jack Daniel's Racing V8 Supercar, the 483 hours of racing, the 635 flights to move the team from race to race and the 230 races that Jack Daniel's Racing have competed in over the past seven years of their involvement in the sport.
The ‘Craftsmanship' car of Blanchard focuses on the details of the car itself, including the 72 pitons used in the 8 engines, the 432 brake changes made, the 90 litres of paint used to make the cars shine, the 650 horsepower of the engine, its acceleration of 0-100kmh in 3.4 seconds, the 160 metres of rollcage used and the 24 panels on each car.
Team owner/driver Todd Kelly will not compete at Abu Dhabi, due to his ongoing recovery from shoulder surgery, but says the facts written across the cars are indicative of the Jack Daniel's brand's ethics.
“We are very proud of the outstanding quality, detail, dedication and craftsmanship that goes into every component we produce on our V8 Supercars cars,” he said.
“When I visited the Jack Daniel's distillery in Lynchburg, I saw that same level of craftsmanship and passion in the production of the famous Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey.”
The V8 Supercars will support the Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Abu Dhabi track this weekend.
