Kelly Racing takes one-two in mixed qualifying

The grid for Race 6 of the V8 Supercars Championship will be a mixed bag after a brief but heavy rain shower four minutes into qualifying.

Following on from yesterday’s debut win, Jack Daniel’s Racing’s Rick and Todd Kelly will start from the front row of the grid.

Rain hit the track after the teams had completed just one flying lap. Despite most drivers putting wet weather tyres on, no driver could improve on their position. The session was effectively a four minute affair.

Steve Owen (VIP Petfoods Racing) has taken a season best of third ahead of local drivers Shane van Gisbergen (SP Tools Racing) and Greg Murphy (Pepsi Max Crew).

Rounding out the top 10 is Lee Holdsworth (Fujitsu Racing), Alex Davison (IRWIN Racing), Craig Lowndes (TeamVodafone), Jamie Whincup (TeamVodafone) and Will Davison (Trading Post FPR).

Davison’s FPR team-mate Mark Winterbottom will start well down in 21st place.

Don’t miss out on grandstand tickets for the 2026 Repco Bathurst.
