Kyle Larson has claimed victory in Dover to end a 75 race winless streak ahead of Martin Truex Jnr and Alex Bowman.

It sees Larson guaranteed to progress through to the playoffs’ Round of 8 with two races remaining.

Running largely green, the 400 lap encounter saw just three yellow flag interruptions which ended with only eight cars on the lead lap.

Pitting during the break between the second and third stage, Larson emerged from the lane first.

He then extended his advantage out to three seconds as the final stage progressed, which grew to nearly six seconds after his final stop.

Delayed in lapped traffic, Truex closed to within two seconds of Larson, but once clear the lead was reestablished at three seconds, with Bowman more than eight seconds off the front of the race.

Fourth went to Kevin Harvick from Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Matt DiBenedetto, Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch, and Clint Bowyer rounding out the 10.

Chase Elliott was an early scratching with an engine failure while Ryan Blaney went to the garage on Lap 298 complaining of brake issues, and an axle problem pre-race saw Joey Logano finally take the start 24 laps down and finish 34th.

Talladega hosts the next round of the NASCAR Cup Series, the second of three Round of 12 races, on October 11-13 (local time).
