Pepsi is calling for final submissions for its ‘Skin it to win it’ campaign.
Artistically-minded V8 Supercars fans have been asked to create their own version of the Pepsi Max Crew Commodore VE, driven by Kelly Racing’s Greg Murphy.
The winning entry will receive an all expenses paid trip to Bathurst to watch their livery in action during the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 on October 6-9.
Fans are able to go to Pepsi’s special website to create their own design, either using the site’s tools, or creating their own design – from scratch.
The competition has been active for five months, with over 5000 entries.
The designs you see to the right are the monthly winners who have scored themselves a variety of prizes – from PlayStation 3 consoles to V8 hot laps and Pepsi Max Crew merchandise packs. The winning design will be selected from all designs submitted.
PepsiCo entered V8 Supercars at the start of 2011 and have so far competed with three different colour schemes. The Bathurst competition design will be the fourth unique look.
A fifth and final Pepsi Max Crew Commodore livery will be used for the season finale at the Sydney Telstra 500.
Four-times Bathurst 1000 Murphy currently sits 15th in the V8 Supercars Championship – the second highest of all four Kelly Racing entries.
PepsiCo Beverages Australia and New Zealand marketing manager Danielle Maher has encouraged fans to get creative and file their final submissions.
“We’ve already seen some great designs so far – there is plenty of artistic talent amongst V8 enthusiasts that’s for sure,” Maher told Speedcafe.com.
“But we want to make sure we’ve got the best of the best for Bathurst so get designing before the competition closes.” The final winner of the Bathurst ‘Skin it to win it’ competition will receive their winning design on the Pepsi Max Crew V8 Supercar (to be driven by Murphy and Danish driver Allan Simonsen), a trip for two to Bathurst, flights, accommodation for four nights, two passes to the Pepsi Max Crew corporate hospitality at Bathurst and $1000 spending money.
The competition closes on Wednesday, August 31.
