TeamVodafone set the pace at the Victorian venue

Craig Lowndes has ended practice day for the V8 Supercars at Winton with the fastest time.

The TeamVodafone driver waited until the final two minutes to set his final flyer – with a 1:22.03s lap putting Lowndes almost 0.5s clear of the field.

Russell Ingall set his best time after the chequered flag fell to end the session second fastest, from Tim Slade (Lucky 7 Racing) and David Reynolds (Stratco Racing).

Fabian Coulthard (Bundaberg Racing), Jamie Whincup (TeamVodafone), Garth Tander (Toll Holden Racing Team), Greg Murphy (Pepsi Max Crew), Will Davison (Trading Post FPR) and Steven Johnson (Jim Beam Racing) rounded out the top 10.
