The Australian owned Keneric Racing team has announced that American Racing Custom Wheels will be its naming rights sponsor for the full 2014 World of Outlaws STP Sprintcar Series with Sydney driver, Kerry Madsen.
The iconic wheel brand first became involved with the Bob and Peter Gavranich owned team in November last year for the WoO STP World Finals at The Dirt Track in Charlotte.
From there, discussions proceeded and the company felt both Keneric and Madsen were a good fit for its brand.
Madsen is ecstatic with the partnership and believes the team enters the 2014 season in great shape and is looking forward to advancing on his eighth finishing position in last year's WoO STP Championship:
“We have put in a lot of work in the off season and have been working harder than ever to prepare for our most important season to date,” said Madsen. “Since our inception we have taken small steps each year in our development as a race team and organisation; we believe that we are now another step closer to achieving our goals. We are under no illusion of the expectations and the added pressure of securing a partner such as American Racing, but it's a challenge we are up for.”
Peter Gavranich affirmed Madsen's thoughts and welcomed the extended partnership from American Racing Custom Wheels.
“We started on this journey back in 2011 and when we look back and reflect on where we are today, and the things that we have achieved for a privately owned Australian team, to be competing with the WoO in the USA is a pretty good thing in itself,” he said. “The fact that we have just aligned ourselves with a corporate American company and WoO series sponsor (places us) in an even better position.”
Dan Ricehouse from American Racing declared season 2014 ‘game on' for Madsen and the Keneric Racing team:
“After the tremendous response at the WoO World Finals at Charlotte in November, we all sat down and had a serious conversation about the potential in our newly founded relationship,” he said. “Keneric Racing runs a first class operation; with their core business in Australia (Keneric Group) and their race team in the USA, they have made a serious commitment to run for a WoO Championship in 2014.”
Madsen will be in action for Keneric at the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic, Warrnambool this weekend before a return to the States when the World of Outlaws STP Sprintcar Series begins on Friday, February 14 at Volusia in Florida.
