Two changes among Darwin Super2 Series field

The second-tier Supercars class’ first visit to the Darwin Triple Crown follows a four-month break since the season opener in Sydney.

There are two changes to the field for Darwin.

V8 SuperUtes regular Rossi Johnson joins the grid with Apogee Motorsport, fielding a Holden Commodore ZB leased from Image Racing.

Masterton Motorsport and its rookie Hamish Fitzsimmons are not making the trip north, leaving the grid at 20 cars.

Matt Chahda Motorsport has meanwhile confirmed an unchanged line-up, with Jordyn Sinni having found the budget to contest the event.

The Blanchard Racing Team’s Lochie Dalton and Brad Jones Racing’s Brad Vaughan left Sydney tied at the top of the standings.

They shared the race wins at the Sydney venue, upstaging the four-car Tickford Racing squad that dominated last season.

Tickford drivers Reuben Goodall and Ben Gomersall – who will run main game wildcards later this year – are third and fourth respectively.

Anderson Motorsport’s Zak Best sits fifth, while Nash Morris (Tickford) and Ryan Tomsett (Anderson) are sixth and seventh having scored a Sydney podium apiece.

The Super2 Series field will contest two 40-minute races across Saturday and Sunday of the June 19-21 Darwin event.
