Jason Bright has taken the covers off the Ford which sees him return to the Prodrive-fold for the 2017 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
Bright's #56 FG X Falcon will run in a white, black, purple and blue hues under backing from MEGA fuels.
Entering his 17th consecutive Supercars season, Bright's machine will be run as part of the Prodrive Racing Australia operation.
Co-inciding with the livery launch, reigning Dunlop Series champion Garry Jacobson has been named as Bright's co-driver for the Pirtek Enduro Cup.
“The front of the car looks quite aggressive and should stand out on the track. The colours of the MEGA Fuels logo makes for a great race livery,” Bright said.
Having trialled one of Prodrive Racing's FG X Supercars late in 2016, Bright says that the transition to the alternate set-up of the Ford after a long stint in BJR-prepared Commodores shouldn't prove too much of a challenge.
“The car didn't do anything surprising but it was quite different to what I'm used to,” said Bright.
“Having said that I was comfortable in the car quite quickly and that will only improve when it is set up to my specifications.
“How the car behaves will obviously be different again when we go to Sydney Motorsport Park for the test day (February 21) as well, particularly with the introduction of the new tyre construction.
“So it'll be a lot to acclimatise to on one day but I'm confident that I'll be ready to take on Clipsal by the end of it.”
Jacobson experienced one of Prodrive's FG X Fords in a co-driver test session at Queensland Raceway in 2016.
“It's an honour to be given the opportunity to drive alongside Brighty in the Supercars main series as a co-driver,” said Jacobson.
“It's exciting for me to gain even more experience in these cars and it shows that the team and Tim trust in my ability and trust that I can do the job on the day.”
MEGA Limited national motorsport manager Terry Knight said the backing is key to exposing the new brand to the market.
“Being a relatively new brand to the retail market, this sponsorship is a key part of what we're doing as a business so it's exciting to see it in the flesh,” said Knight.
Supplying fuels to the wholesale and remote industrial markets, MEGA Limited will move into a new market in 2017.
“We have big plans in place as the new name in the petroleum industry and this sponsorship works well alongside the programs that we have coming on board soon.
“We supply to remote industries across the country so working with a nationwide sporting code is extremely beneficial for us.”
